Article 1 started life in 2001 through a chance meeting with the 'incredible' General Levy. This resulted in a writing and production collaboration with Dave Robertson who manages the General.
Their first effort was 'The Greatest' sampling Muhammad Ali over a dirty filtered house groove which was released on white label and picked up strong radio and club support. This was followed by Sunshine Daze which sampled the original Osibisa 1976 hit 'Sunshiny Day' and featured General Levy on vocals.

Article 1 have built up a catalogue of tracks including one, 'Heaven' using a speech on recent Black American history by Antonio Fargas, the original 'Huggy Bear', another featuring the General, entitled 'Jump Up' was signed to Time Records in Italy under the artist name Sugashak.

Article 1 tracks have picked up various TV usages along the way. They are currently working on a housed up reggae tune called 'House Is My Castle' which will be their next release.
