Rio Klein is Nicks own project. Initially it was his remix name,
but has since evoloved into his artist name as well. As Rio
Klein, he has remixed for various artists including Dido, Avril
Lavigne and Departure Lounge.
His most unusual remix project so far has been for Jonathan
Sheffer's New York orchestra, The EOS Orchestra. The brief was
for four commisioned 15 minute 'original compositions' incorporating
sampled elements taken from the orchestra's programmes for their
concerts and tours. The compositions were to be played before
the concerts and during the intervals and included Michael Nyman's
3rd String Quartet which was conducted by Nyman himself.
Rio Klein signed to Nettwerk Records in 2003 and went on to
release 'Fearless', a deep melodic trance track with vocals
by Shelley Harland. Mixes were supplied by PUSH, Agnelli &
Nelson and Cardiff Giants and it reached the shops in February
2004 in the UK and US. Fearless reached no1 in the club charts
and picked up huge radio and dj support worldwide, having been
championed by the likes of Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van
Buren and Judge Jules amongst many others.
Nick is currently working on new material to follow up the success
of Fearless.
